MOMPES 2021 Event

Recently, our Animal Genetics and Genome Evolutionary Laboratory (AGAGEL) lab’s Ph.D. student, Christie Soo had participated in the oral presentation of Molecular Medicine Postgraduate Students (MOMPES) 1st Scientific Symposium 2021. The event was organized on 22 November 2021 and went on smoothly with valuable exposure to various interesting molecular medicine research findings presented in the symposium. This symposium participation experience had boosted Christie’s motivation and interest in research especially molecular medicine research. In addition, he was also honoured to have obtained Second Place achievement in the Best Oral Presenter category of MOMPES 2021.

During the symposium, he presented his research works entitled “The Immune Importance and Potential Biosafety Diagnosis Applications of Shrimp STAT Gene”. The immune importance, sequence and structure comparison, and potential biosafety diagnosis applications of shrimp STAT gene were discussed. The full work was previously published as “Differential STAT gene expressions of Penaeus monodon and Macrobrachium rosenbergii in response to white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and bacterial infections: Additional insight into genetic variations and transcriptomic highlights” in PLoS One journal. Thank you from AGAGEL team.
